good kid, m.A.A.d city is the first big record label album by Kendrick Lamar, released on October 22, 2012. He released this album through three labels which are: Top Dawg Entertainment, Aftermath Entertainment & Interscope Records.
This album has been subtitled as a "Short Film by Kendrick Lamar," since it talks about the day in a life of a 17-year old Kendrick, as he passes through the city of Compton in his moms Mini Van.
The acronym in the album has two meanings according to Kendrick. One bing 'my angel's on angels dust' and the other being 'my Angry Adolescence divided'.
Kendrick goes to talk about gang violence and maturity of a young Kendrick Lamar in this album. Pointing out things how he was living the thug life, when in reality he wasn't ment for that type of life, since he often felt uncomfortable. Talking about how he was jumped by the cousins of a girl named Sherane, who he was trying to hook up with and how he saw someone being killed infront of him during the young age of six.
